About Chama three-day
The Rio Chama is a benchmark for great western float trips. This family friendly river has some of the best camping and river wilderness found in the southwest. You will enjoy three days of solitude and incredible wilderness. The trip begins in alpine woodlands as a clear, rushing trout stream and ends at the head of Abiquiu Reservoir as a silty desert river, rolling among the rainbow-colored cliffs the Georgia O’Keeffe country.Lovely, wooded campsites and lively, easy rapids make the Chama one of the best river outings anywhere. This trip is available with Live Music,Gourmet Cuisine, and Yoga instruction.
Reunion Trip Itinerary
Day 1: We will meet at either Bode’s General Store in Abiquiu, NM at 8am or at the Far Flung office in El Prado at 7AM. We will make a plan for shuttles as the trip comes together. We are planning to use our vehicles, but if people drive themselves or shuttle their own vehicle then we will just sort those details as needed.
Trip: Depending on size and what makes sense we will plan to camp at in more unused camps and will do camps within walking distance as necessary. If we can do a layover we will, but that will depend on flows.
