Cancellation Policy

Reservation cancellation more than 2 weeks before trip date receives a refund minus 10% of trip cost. Less than two weeks before trip date forfeits deposit. Cancellation within 1-week or day of trip no-show forfeits full trip cost.

Overview

This combination and Far Flung exclusive combines an immersive private tour of the Taos Pueblo with a traditional lunch and an afternoon rafting on the beautiful Rio Grande river.

You will tour across the incredible land of the Taos Pueblo to visit a native bison herd and learn about their historical and cultural importance, then take a private tour of the central plaza of the Pueblo, a designated UNESCO world heritage site. After that you will enjoy some traditional Native cuisine before departing the Pueblo and making your way south of Taos to meet for your afternoon rafting trip.

Your morning will begin at 8am at the Taos Cow cafe in Arroyo Seco on the north side of Taos. After the buffalo tour your will follow your guide to the Taos Pueblo entrance near downtown Taos for that portion the tour and for an early lunch (11am). Following lunch you will make your way to our Riverside Office in Pilar, NM, 15 miles south of Taos. Please allow 25 minutes or so for the drive from Taos Pueblo to Pilar.

Detailed Itinerary

Rendezvous in the morning at 8am at the Taos Cow cafe, where your guide from Whitefeather Tours will meet you and have you accompany them onto their nearby private buffalo ranch on Taos Pueblo land. Around 9:30am you will depart from the Taos Cow and follow your guide to the main entrance of the Pueblo near the Taos Plaza. Once arriving you will take a private tour of this incredible UNESCO Heritage site and enjoy some local Tiwa cuisine for lunch.

After this you will make your way to Far Flung Riverside in Pilar, NM 15 miles south of Taos and meet us at 12:15 for your rafting trip! During checkout you will choose either the Racecourse whitewater trip or the Scenic Float for your afternoon on the river. Either trip will finish up back at our office around 3:30pm.

If you need river shoes, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, eyeglass retainers or any other variety of odds and ends we have you covered at our Far Flung Riverside store when you meet for your rafting trip.
