Participants

We welcome all participants 6 years or older. Your pilot will cover safety instructions for your flight and your river guide will guide the raft while you float the Rio Grande!

Craft

For your flight tour you will be in either a Piper Cherokee 180 (PA-28-180) or a Cessna 206 (P-206-E).

For the river portion we offer paddle boats, oar boats or individual inflatable kayaks.

Cancellation Policy

Reservation cancellation more than 2 weeks before trip date receives a refund minus 10% of trip cost. Less than two weeks before trip date forfeits deposit. Cancellation within 1-week or day of trip no-show forfeits full trip cost.

Overview

This popular combination experience allows you to soar the Taos skies in the morning and then enjoy an afternoon on the river with us! This trip is perfect for families and groups looking for two exciting and diverse activities that allow for a great day of outdoor fun and action.

Your morning flight will meet at 6am*, 8:30am or 9:30am at the Taos Regional Airport with your pilot at Fly Taos Sky. After your flight, you will meet for your rafting trip at 12:15pm in the Village of Pilar, 15 miles south of Taos. You can get your own lunch while driving through town or we can arrange lunch for you at the Pilar Cafe, which is 1 mile away from our Riverside office.

*6am-ish is the sunrise tour. The exact time of this option will vary slightly depending on the time of year. Please contact us for the current meeting time of the sunrise flightseeing tour.

Detailed Itinerary

Rendezvous in the morning at 6am, 8:30am or 9:30am at the Taos Regional Airport with your pilot at Fly Taos Sky, a local flight seeing company with over 25 years experience. After a safety orientation you will hit the skies for 45 minutes of incredible vistas of the Rio Grande Gorge Rift Valley, The Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and the expansive planes and distant snow capped peaks of the Colorado Rockies.

After your flight seeing tour you will make your way south to our Riverside office in Pilar, NM and will meet us for your rafting trip at 12:15pm. You may choose to get your own lunch on your way or we can arrange lunch for you at the Pilar Cafe just 1 mile down the road from our Riverside Office. You will make this selection while making your reservation.

For your afternoon on the water you may choose between the fun and exciting Class II-III rapids of the Rio Grande Racecourse or the beautiful vistas of our Scenic Float trip. Either trip will finish up back at our office around 3:30pm. You will also make your river trip selection during checkout.
