This full-day southwestern experience is a great way to see northern New Mexico, from the high mountains to the bottom of its rocky canyons.
This popular horseback riding and rafting combination trip is a full day experience made possible by our friends at Cieneguilla Stables (read some of their reviews here). The horseback portion of this trip is design to accommodate any level of rider and to give participants a chance to explore and experience the Picuris Mountains at a comfortable pace. Prior riding experience is not necessary! The afternoon will be spent with the guides at Far Flung Adventures on New Mexico’s most popular half-day whitewater river trip: The Rio Grande Racecourse!
Your day will start by meeting at Cieneguilla Stables at 8:30am, where you will get acquainted with your new furry friends and saddle up for a beautiful ride in the Pictures mountains!
Around 11:15am you will finish your horseback ride and drive 1-mile down the road to the Pilar Cafe, where you will enjoy a delicious New Mexican style lunch. At 12:15 Your guide from Far Flung will meet you there and for your afternoon river trip and return you to your vehicle afterwards.
