We welcome intermediates and experts on this paddleboard adventure through the wilderness of the Middle Box. You will find the Class I-II rapids of this isolated stretch both fun and invigorating. There will be one Class III rapid, and it will be left up to the guide to decide whether individuals walk around it or not.
The trip will begin with a short half-mile hike down a very well maintained and scenic trail that will lead us to the river. All participants will be required to carry a backpack (provided) containing their inflatable SUP and safety gear, weighing 15-20 lbs. Once riverside the group will suit up, the guide will lead everyone in an instructional and safety session, and then you will hop on the river and get to the fun part! Mid-way through the trip we will serve a refreshing and well deserved riverside lunch at a spectacular ancient indian hunting camp and petroglyph site at the confluence of San Cristobal canyon and the Rio Grande Gorge.
This will be an incredible experience for those who are up to a challenging and physical full day adventure in a breathtaking and seldom visited area.
