Rock and Raft

This popular climbing and rafting combination trip is a full day experience made possible by our friends at Mountain Skills Adventures. (Please follow the link if you wish to explore more of their great trip options) The morning will begin by meeting at the Pilar Cafe at 8:30 am. There you will meet your guide and accompany him to the nearby rim of the Rio Grande Gorge for spectacular views and a thrilling set of rappelling areas on the edge of the deep canyon. After working up an appetite rappelling, we will enjoy a well-deserved riverside lunch, including an array of hand-roasted sandwich meats and homemade salads and salsas (see some of our recipes here). After that it will be off to the Rio Grande Visitors Center, where you will meet up with your guides at Far Flung Adventures and head downstream to enjoy the Pilar Racecourse and its wild array of class II and III rapids.

*The activities offered in this trip may be done in any order.
